USA Junior Age Group –
Athletes competing in the Junior Age Group must meet the following criteria:
Born September 1, 2006 and after & enrolled in grades 9-12 during the 2025-26 school year. No 8th grader can enter this division. Failure to comply with this can result in a suspension of your USAW membership and eligibility for other regional and national level events.
Period Lengths –
8U-14U Boys and Girls Divisions will be 2 – 2-minute periods with a 30 second rest
Junior Boys and Girls Divisions will be 2 – 3-minute periods with a 30 second rest
USA Wrestling Membership Information –
To enter a USA Wrestling (USAW) sanctioned event, a wrestler must first get a USA Wrestling membership (a “USAW Card”) online at usawmembership.com for insurance and eligibility, then register for the specific event on the USA Wrestling Events website, providing their membership number. This event, being freestyle will require a FULL ATHLETE MEMBERSHIP.
For American Athletes –
Visit the Official Site: Navigate to www.usawmembership.com.
Create/Login: Click to create a free account or log in if you already have one.
Manage Profile: Go to “Manage” > “Profiles” to create a new profile or claim an existing one.
Select Membership: Go to “Manage” > “Memberships” and select the type you need (Athlete, Coach, Official) and add it to your cart.
Checkout: Proceed to the cart icon to pay for your membership.
Complete Requirements (if applicable):
Athletes: May need to complete SafeSport training before activation.
Leaders (Coaches/Officials): Must complete SafeSport and pass a mandatory background check
For Canadian Athletes –
Get a USA Wrestling Membership: Go to http://www.usawmembership.com to create an account and purchase an Athlete Membership.
Provide Membership Card: You’ll need your USAW Membership Card number and to show the physical/digital card at event check-in/weigh-ins.
Check Eligibility: Be aware that UWW Junior events often require U.S. citizenship, but Kids & Cadet UWW divisions usually include Canadian athletes with secondary insurance provided.
For Canadian Coaches –
Obtain Leader Membership: Coaches must get a USA Wrestling Leader Membership Card (which includes a background check) before the event.
Allow Time: The background check process can take up to 30 days, so apply well in advance.
Miscellaneous Information –
Age groups are based on USA Wrestling age groupings. Please refer to USA Wrestling website for any questions or clarification.
Double elimination brackets will be used when possible. Divisions of 5 or less wrestlers will be put into a round robin.
Weight classes may be combined if necessary.
No outside food or beverage will be allowed inside the venue. The only exceptions are athlete’s drinks (water, Gatorade, etc.)
Awards –
We will give custom medals for the top 3 wrestlers in each division. We will also award a male and a female Most Outstanding Wrestler award to be determined by the best performance as measured by statistics throughout the event. Final decision will be made by the FO staff which may include discussions with coaches to address close contentions or statistics.

8:00-9:00AM – Rules clinic with officials
8:45AM – Coaches meeting
9:30AM – Wrestling begins till completion
We will make every effort to keep this timeline. We reserve the right to adjust this as needed including but not limited to a split session start time.
Awards will be given out at the conclusion of each division as they are called by our head awards table.
Custom singlets will be given to the top 3 wrestlers in each weight class. Team awards will be given to the top 3 teams based on their top 10 scoring wrestlers.
Additional Important Information. Please Take the Time to Read This
This is a USAW Sanctioned event this year. All wrestlers must have a valid USAW Full Athlete Membership card.
This event will be run on USA Bracketing. This is where the brackets will be posted. You can view them on USAbracketing.com.
Coaches will need to show proof of their USAW coaching credentials to access matside. All spectators will be in the stands. Failure to comply with this rule will result in being asked to leave the facility. Coaches that present their credentials will be given a wrist band allowing them to access the floor. Coaches will pay the same entry fee as spectators. Parents of children that come without a club or a club coach should plan to make arrangements with another coach to help coach your wrestler matside. Again, there is no exception to this policy.
